How I work with you

I offer three main ways for you to wear The Linen Duck clothing.

1. Making something new:

Primarily I am a self taught dressmaker offering my services to recreate items from my inventory for you. Please have a look through my catalogue to see if there are items of interest to you.

Then we will follow the below steps:

- Choose: Select your item/s to be created, add them to the cart and purchase. You will receive a confirmation email I will be in be in touch within 2-3 business days.

- Shop: Book in a Fabric consultation and/or local shopping trip

and we will select your fabric and notions together (requirements listed in the item description). Or you can purchase the requirements  yourself and either post the items to me or, if you are purchasing online, please use my address as the delivery address to reduce the wait time.

- Consult: Meet with me (online or in person) to confirm measurements, design details and finishing.

- Construct: I will take 3-4 weeks to construct your item and I may be in touch during the process for a fitting, if required.

- Finish: Meet for a final fitting and handover or, if you are not in the Bendigo area, I will post the item to you. Let me know at this point if there are any alterations needed (one set is included in your purchase) and we can make plans from there.

Please allow up to 6 weeks from my receipt of your fabric and notions for your item to be finished, with a hope to be done before then. If your item will take longer that the 6 weeks, I will let you know well before we get started and provide a reviewed expected finish date at commencement.

2. Altering and repairing existing fashion:

My passion is making sure that as few items of clothing as possible go into landfill. With that in mind, I would like to offer my services for alterations and/or repairs of you existing pre-loved or Ill-fitting items

Purchase the Alterations or repairs of your own clothing item and I will be in touch to arrange pickup/delivery of your precious item and we will work together making it work for you.

Please allow minimum 2 weeks from my receipt of your item and our consultation for to completion. I will let you know well before we get started if this is likely to be a longer term repair or alteration and provide an expected finish date at commencement.

3. Collaborating on a new creation:

I typically work with existing patterns, as I am not a designer, but I also offer pattern consultation using my existing collection in person or we can hop online together to find the perfect design for you. Then, made with your fabric choice, you will have a uniquely “you” design.

Purchase the Pattern AND Fabric consultation and/or shopping trip

item and I will be in touch to get started! After consultation, I will put together a quote and timeline before we put scissors to fabric to make sure you are happy.

Also look into the Drafting a Custom Pattern from your Favourite Piece Consultation item to see if this inspires you to look in your own wardrobe for an old faithful or favourite to replicate.
